The field hockey team took another loss this weekend at The Gunnery School. The team began the contest slightly timid, which resulted in the first goal of the game. The first goal of the game was an "own goal." A defender deflected the ball up and over Titans goalie Marissa McDermott. The score was 0-2 at halftime, and Gunnery continued to prevail into the 2nd half.
McDermott kept the Titans in the contest with 8 saves. She cleared the ball very well throughout the entire game. All her clears were strong and angled to the sidelines. Christine O'Donnell and Allie Cerpovicz also had superior games for the Titans. Both O'Donnell and Cerpovicz played multiple positions throughout the game. O'Donnell moved from the forward line back to midfield to assist with the Titans' transition game. Cerpovicz started the game at midfield and also shifted back to the defensive to contain Gunnery's offensive threats. HanNa Kim and Helen Jing saw considerable time at the end of the second half at midfield and defense respectively.
This week the Titans will take on Williston away on Wednesday, October 26th at 2:30pm and Vermont Academy on Saturday, October 29, at 2:30pm at home.
