Jeff Cook leaves Dartmouth; joins Philadelphia Union Youth Academy
Head coach Gary Cook has a long connection to Wilbraham & Monson Academy and to soccer in the Pioneer Valley. Now in his 37th year of coaching at the secondary level, Cook has been the Titans' head coach since 1982, earning Massachusetts Prep/Parochial Coach of the Year honors in 1998 and 2004. He is coaching the Western United Pioneers U14 boys club team, and has also coached for the club team Western United FC, and he serves as the Regional Director for New England and as an Associate Staff member for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Cook holds the NSCAA Advanced National and Premier Diplomas, both passed with Distinction. He played his collegiate soccer at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has coached at the youth level for 12 seasons.
Sean McGrath '07 is in his second season as an assistant coach at WMA, where he captained the 2006 New England Championship team as a post-graduate before playing four seasons at Brown University. Coach McGrath, who holds an NSCAA National diploma, is in charge of fitness and conditioning for the men's soccer team. He's an English teacher at WMA and also coaches indoor track. He serves as a dorm parent in Rich Hall.
