Planned Giving
Members of the Academy's Heritage Society , who remember the Academy in their wills or estate plans, enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that, through their planning and thoughtfulness, WMA will be preserved for many generations to come. We invite you to join them. Your membership will also serve as a source of inspiration and encouragement for others who might consider making similar gifts.
Would you like to make a gift to the Academy and get something back for you or your loved ones in return? The Academy has several planned giving options that are a great investment in the future of WMA and will provide income or tax benefits to you or your family.
Please note that WMA does not provide tax or legal advice. Gift calculations may be provided for illustrative purposes only, and the actual values may vary based on the timing and nature of your gift. Advice from legal and tax counsel should be sought when considering a charitable gift plan of any kind.
Reunion Giving
Reunion Giving is critical to the success of our Annual Fund Campaign. In a Reunion year, alumni at schools around the country are asked to stretch and increase the size of their Annual Fund gifts in honor of their Reunion. The increased gifts vary greatly but are often multiples of two to five times the donor's typical Annual Fund gift. Each year, the Annual Fund Chair sets a goal for all Reunion Classes. During the past two years, Reunion Classes have doubled their support for the Academy.
Fund Giving
The Francis Michael Casey Fund for the Fine & Performing Arts
A fund to honor the former headmaster for his devotion to and support of the fine and performing arts, and as a way of expressing gratitude to Mr. Casey and the Academy for the educational experience the school provided. Made possible through the generosity of Arthur H. Zalkan and his three
children, Brett '83, Marilyn '84, and Ira '89. In 1994, together with
their wife and mother Barbara F. Zalkan, who passed away in 2000, the
Zalkans created the Francis Michael Casey Fund. Among other purposes, they intend the fund to support annual performances for the enjoyment of the Academy and the larger community. We are grateful to the Zalkan family for its continued loyalty to the Academy, and for establishing this fund during Mr. Casey's lifetime so that he was able to enjoy its benefits.
The Robert McCallum Visiting Lectureship
In June 2002, this endowed fund was established in memory of devoted Trustee Robert Warren McCallum í46W through the generosity of Charles A. McCallum í43W, his brother, and Trustee Lenita McCallum Witherspoon, Robert's widow. The income from the fund is used to enrich the spiritual life of students at the Academy through either a visiting lecturer or a scholar in residence.
Volunteerism
Wilbraham & Monson Academy relies on more than 200 alumni and parent volunteers who serve as leaders of the Annual Fund Campaign, callers at phonathons, members of the Leadership Solicitor's Team, and as Class Agents. We have many volunteer opportunities at the Academy; volunteering is a great way to give back to your alma mater.
