Event Recap: The Titans, in their first-ever JV softball game, reigned over Williston with a 22-17 victory. Behind pitcher Emma McCloskey '17 was a solid defense, which executed a number of outstanding fielding plays. Emily Carson '15 showed natural talent behind the plate in her first outing as our catcher. Anna Misiewicz '12 made an outstanding catch in left field for one of the first outs of the game. Maddy Duke '15 was a defensive asset in right field. Robin Dillon '15 executed multiple plays at third base, demonstrating her finesse at the position. Maeve Rothschild-Shea '17 had an impressive eye at the plate, drawing multiple walks, which added runs for the Titans. On the offensive end, solid contact was made throughout the line-up. Sophie Albano-Alisberg '13, Helen Assefaw '14, Allie Collins-Anderson '16, Nina Lu '13 and Vicky Wu '13 doubled, adding security to the final score. Kaylee Grabowski '15, though unable to play due to injury, showed her commitment and support for her team as she initiated cheering on the bench.
WMA's next competition is Wednesday, April 25, at Cheshire Academy, where the Titans look to advance to 2-0.
